Pros & Cons

  • The people are great to work with, and the work is interesting and engaging.
  • Knowing that you're playing (a very small) part in tackling climate change is rewarding.
  • Interesting work that aligns with my personal values.
  • Positive work culture and team environment. The size of the agency is really great - right in the goldilocks zone. Rewarding and intellectually stimulating work.
  • The agency administers some of the government's climate change policies, but is less influential in driving the design of those policies in the first place.

Apart from that, the agency is taking steps to reduce the environmental impact of its activities (e.g. energy and emissions, waste). It also has an active social club that fundraises for many charities and NGOs every year.
