How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
My supervising manager hasn't been as hands on as i expected, very approachable though. in general, all the partners are.

Extremely happy and very accessible - I have 3 scheduled sessions with my buddy and mentor per week to catch up, discuss issues etc. and can approach anyone in my team whenever I'd like.

Yes they are great. Constant communication and checking up.

My managers are good. I am only in the section in am in for another month so hard to say long term. I don't know if any could be considered mentors.

I engage with senior staff at a variety of levels: my "mentor" who is a senior associate, the matter partners, and the practise managers. All of whom are very kind, and keen to offer experience, as well as understanding about my position.

Everyone is very supportive but more feedback would be helpful

Managers are approachable and care about my development. Feedback is common, although sometimes needs to be sought.

Yes, most make good mentors, although the more senior they are the less time it feels like they have to mentor me.

This could be team specific but I am generally mentored by the junior lawyers in my team (who are all fantastic mentors). My partner is wonderful and I have done a lot of work for them, but they are, like most partners, very busy and sometimes hard to reach.

My managers are great. I find my supervising partner to be extremely personable and approachable. We also have a great team which stems from my supervising partners approach to being a partner. My mentor is also very approachable and always takes the time to explain things to me and check in to see how I am going. He has been a great help. I am thankful for having had such a good start to my time at HW.

All of the seniors have been very welcoming and helpful in my learning.

Management style really depends on the person. I find that special counsel and senior associates are the best mentors and give the most useful feedback. Partners are often very busy and unable to give you meaningful feedback. Similarly, some partners take much more active roles in your development than others. It is the luck of the draw in that sense. I think it is an issue with the law profession more broadly that partners are put into those positions due to the practice they have built up and the clients that they engage, rather than management style or skill.

I am satisfied. The mentors and buddies are very accessible/

I can't rank highly enough that we receive extensive mentoring and assistance from mentors and collegeus.

There isn't a lot of oversight, but there are people you can talk to if you need assistance.
Graduate, Melbourne
Even though everyone is busy, they always provide me with constructive feedback, encouraging me to learn new skills and gain new experiences.
Graduate, Brisbane
Yes, managers are usually always available to interact with and ask questions.

I am surrounded by a supportive team with a mentor, buddy and partners that provide help whenever need.

In the different teams I have worked in, my managers have been very accessible and they make good mentors in general. There are occasions where communication could be improved, but considering how busy the managers are running their practices, it is hard to complain.

My managers are very good leaders and have greatly helped my professional development during my time at the firm. The managers are always friendly and have always made me feel very welcome in the team. They often give me advice on how to develop my skillsets further and consistently give feedback on the work that I produce.
