What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
As a graduate the pay is great and in line with other national firms but lawyers 3-4 years post qualification say pay rises seem to happen very gradually and often people leave chasing bigger pay jumps (but this seems to happen everywhere).
Graduate, Newcastle
Very happy with the compensation received, considering PLT costs are also covered.
Graduate, Sydney
Pay is great.
Graduate, Melbourne
Fairly good, a bit below other graduate positions though

As an older person, the graduate pay is painfully low. I understand it is not low in the market, but for someone who used to get paid a lot more, it is painful to drop to the bottom of the pay scale and have to start from scratch but it is just hte way it is. Not Hall& Wilcox's fault i chose to change my career mid-life! It would be nice to get some sort of mid-year or xmas bonus though but as a contracted employee that is yet to happen.
Graduate, Brisbane
I think my pay, for a grad, is very reasonable. I'm not aware of any bonuses at my level. However, our PLT is covered by the firm which I consider to be very generous.
Graduate, Melbourne
Our company falls within the middle range of legal employers. The firm is less demanding with respect to billable hours targets and working hours than some of the top firms, so I can understand this.
Graduate, Melbourne
I think the pay compared to other big firms is on the lower end. It could be better.
Graduate, Sydney
I am on a Law Graduate salary which is not much, although I suppose relevant to the role. I am hopeful it will go up on completion of the Law Graduate program once I am admitted. I am not familiar with bonuses at HW. Of course it is always nice to get a bonus for working hard, although I think the salary is of higher importance as it's money you can depend on and borrow against.
Graduate, Perth
With respect to the grad salary, I am happy with it. I also appreciate the 10.5% super payments and the payment of the PLT. It's very appreciated. Post grad year, I can't speak on.
Graduate, Newcastle
Pay for graduates is competitive for the firm's position in the market.
Graduate, Melbourne
i am not sure about the bonuses for grads but the pay is very good.
Graduate, Newcastle
Given the current inflation rate (7%) it would be ideal to receive a higher salary from 1 July, however, our current Grad salary is very attractive
Graduate, Melbourne
Our graduate salary was very generous based on my market research

For doing the same work as someone in a different office, I feel as though the salary should be the same.
Graduate, NEWCASTLE
I think the pay is reasonable for my early career. In my time at the company they have not provided bonuses.
