Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Quite happy - my only criticism would be that on day 2 of induction, it felt a little overwhelming in terms of the amount of information we learnt about how to use firm software, procedures etc. Perhaps if that were slowed down, I would have been a little more comfortable, but in saying that, we were given access to all spoken notes

There is a training program for the graduates which has a lot of content as well as regular firm wide training sessions on all sorts of relevant law topics. There is also heaps of training on the intranet that is easy to find. I have never wanted to know how to use any of the software and not been able to find a guide and video on the intranet and the tech teams are really helpful and approachable.

The firm itself runs an induction week to get used to the software and programs. They also run training throughout the year to make sure you're following along with everything. I find it complex, and a lot to learn, but I think this is simply part of working full time at a big firm with lots of procedures already in place.

There are many learning opportunities that are available at all times

Lots of training sessions for graduates - induction week taught us most of what we needed

HW have a mixture of online and face-to-face training workshops. We also have sessions which are held by the partners or other seniors which are more practice area specific. These are great.

The grad induction in Melbourne was fantastic and definitely the most helpful part of the induction to understand what was expected of us as grads. The on the job training has been well suited for me in my team which is to just have a go at it and as I submit work getting a better understanding of what is correct/needs adjustment through trial and error.

Training is very strong at HW. There are lots of opportunities for development, including many ongoing voluntary opportunities in a wide range of practice areas.

There are constant training and development programs both mandatory and voluntary.

I think more extensive training regarding research could be useful, but we do have a long induction.

I've learnt so many things from being delegated work and figuring it out on my own/with assistance from other lawyers. More formal training has also been helpful to get a broader understanding of the rules and regulations in my area of work.

Integrated training and development in the teams and in the graduate program have really helped to pick up important skills.

My company's formal training for inductions is relatively standard. However they make a lot of internal efforts to run seminars which are widely accessibly to expand your skillset.

There is a combination of structured, more formal training sessions and more flexible on the job learning. This makes for a very holistic learning experience, with emphasis on both technical and soft skills.
