Culture at Landgate

8.1
8.1 rating for Culture, based on 7 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
Landgate has a relationship based culture and highly flexible work office. They offer flexi-time and flexible work arrangement to many staff in a variety of positions. From my experience with the Strategic Communications team I believe the structure to be very open, the hierarchy strong but valid, it is known who the area managers and directors are, but I find everyone across all positions very open to making themselves available to their colleagues. The area's of Landgate I have had the pleasure of working with are all highly collaborative, and due to the emphasis Landgate places on relationships I find many teams to be open and friendly, they value cooperative team work, and make an emphasis on engaging with each other on more than just work talk. However since Landgate has a high aging workforce population I am lucky that my team is so friendly and open, and that the other grads are interested in catching up regularly, otherwise I think it would be a lonely existence.

I can only comment on one department and that department has low morale and cultural issues. I am sure other departments are not like this. It is a very hard line to meet targets for majority of the staff

There is a very positive and friendly culture in my organisation. From my experience, a very collaborative approach is taken within the organisation from people both within their business area and from different business areas. In terms of socialising amongst colleagues, there is an established social club that you can join. As a Graduate, I frequently socialise during lunch time with the other Graduates, or meet up for a coffee before we start work. There is also a great initiative called "Coffee Connect" where once a month those who wish to participate are matched with an individual from within the business and are encouraged to meet up with them for a short time, it's a great way to meet people from across the business and learn about their role within the organisation.

Most people I have come across in the department are very kind and are always willing to help me out. In my sector everyone feels like an equal and my manager is very personable.

In office: Currently, everyone is level-headed and everyone shows respect to others, regardless of their level. There looks to be good synergy in the office. After hours: Unsure, I don't usually make contact with my colleagues outside of work hours.

Landgate has a very rich and personality driven culture. The organisation being relatively small means that you maintain good relations with people because you'll generally work together sometimes in your work. On the hierarchy side, the general managers are generally approachable and will always take feedback on board. Although there isn't any of company funded social events due to the comapany being government, depending on your team generally people are up for team lunches more often than not. Overall the organisation is tight knit and friendly.

The culture at Landgate is inclusive, supportive and driven. The workplace is innovative, which constantly encourages new and dynamic ideas to improve the way we do business. The work, responsibilities and culture differ slightly between teams, however, I have thoroughly enjoyed the culture in the areas I have worked in so far. It is a very collaborative environment and everyone, regardless of their position, will engage will one another. There are, however, limited opportunities to attend social events, both in the office and outside of work hours. I think a shift in the workplace mindset to encourage social interactions and events would allow for different areas of the business to interact more collaboratively.
