My job as an engineer is to help get a design as close to perfect as possible.

My role is to update the slide pack with any recent safety alerts sent from other Thiess sites or our client, our monthly safety performance and a list of incidents from the last seven days.

On Thursdays, we have our weekly classified plant meeting. One of my responsibilities as a graduate mechanical engineer is ‘Wet Plant’ registered plant.

After dropping off, I head to work. I’m usually in by 8, which means it's time for toast and a cup of tea. While I enjoy this, I chat with our other early birds and set myself up at my desk. I sort through emails and write out an agenda for my day, which helps me stay on track and lets me know if I need to hunt for more work!

As a Systems Engineer, it is important for me to keep up to date with everything happening in my systems of responsibility, so I can provide support where needed.

Brendan Farrell studied a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (First Class Honours), 2016 at the Curtin University, and is now a Chemical Engineer at Alcoa Australia

Darrian Low studied a Bachelor of Surveying and is now a Graduate Project Officer at Landgate.

Elysha Maxwell graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics)(First Class Hons) from Curtin University in 2018 and is now working as an Electrical Engineer at Alcoa Australia.
